Healing
Trinity Church offers healing by way of prayer, anointing with oil and the laying on of hands. We take seriously Jesus’ commission to his disciples to heal the sick and to say to them: The kingdom of God has come near to you.
On most Sundays mornings, after people have received communion the priest invites those who would like healing to receive the laying on of hands. By means of oil on the forehead in the sign of a cross, hands upon the person’s head, and a prayer for healing we are reminded that though we live in a fallen world where sin, sickness, and suffering are part of existence, God wants to heal us. Some of those seek healing for themselves and some seek healing for others.
God’s healing takes many forms, one of the major being the healing at the hands of physicians, nurses, therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists. This is complimented by the kind of healing that the church has known and practiced for hundreds of years. “Body, mind and spirit are not three separate entities to be dealt with one at a time. Our health is related to our life style, values, emotions, feelings about ourselves, and our relationships with other people and God.”
The healing ministry for any one who desires it. It is not restricted to just members of the congregation. You are invited to join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
